IF YOU ARE USUALLY EASY TO FIT AND KNOW YOUR SIZE THEN THERE IS NO NEED TO CHECK EVERY DETAIL OF OUR EXTENSIVE SIZING GUIDE. YOU JUST NEED TO CHECK THE FOLLOWING DETAILS WHERE OUR PATTERNS MAY DIFFER FROM MANY OTHER OFF THE RACK GARMENTS.

HACKING JACKET

WAIST:
The waist of our hacking jacket is more fitted than most jackets you will find in the shops by about 2".
Maximum body stomach/jacket waist size is 4" smaller than jacket chest size.
For example a size 44 jacket will fit a 40" stomach comfortably (measure at jacket waist level).
If your stomach measures more than this you would need to extra comfort, e.g. 42" stomach measurement, order 2" comfort waist, there is no extra charge for this. If in doubt order 2" comfort waist.
We also recommend a 2" comfort waist for customers with a straight body shape.

SHOULDERS:
As the Hacking Jacket is made from a vintage riding jacket pattern it is generous across the shoulder blades for ease of movement. This is fine if you have an average or wide shoulder build.
If you have narrow or sloping shoulders, we recommend a narrower or dropped shoulder.

TROUSERS

Our trousers are a classic fit with gently tapered leg,
the rise being around an inch higher than more modern patterns.
The jacket waist is actual size therefore 34 waist will measure 17" across the waistband, many off the rack trousers measure large at 17.5, it's wise to check this measurement or order an inch larger waist size if you are unsure. (please note that jeans waist sizing is not the same as trousers and is not a reliable guide)

AT BOOKSTER YOU CAN CHOOSE INDIVIDUAL BESPOKE SIZING OPTIONS AT A SMALL CHARGE, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FULL MADE TO MEASURE PRICES IF ALL YOU NEED IS A NARROWER SHOULDER OR EXTRA LARGE JACKET WAIST FITTING, OR NARROW LEG TROUSERS.
